i am finally back from my short short holiday, well it was fun but very very fun but scarrrry too!! total communication breakdown, i couldnt understand a single word of thai except like sawadeeka and kaphunka.. on the first day when we got there, we got into the taxi and it was so freaky!! i was like clutching on to my mum's legs for dear life!! a supposedly one hour ride to the hotel took only 15 minutes, with the driver going at like 180km/hr and he drives even worse than my dad!! when we told him to slow down, he said sorry maddaaam i no no.. (smiles sheepishly)and suddenly he blasted the radio so loud, it was scary and he turned back and grinned at us, as if he had done the right thing cos he thought we wanted music !! bangkok is a total shopping paradise!! the things there are really reasonably priced compared to the HIGH marked up prices in singapore.. spent over 30000 baht which is like equals to 1250singapore dollars? not that much already considering how my daddy's friends go crazy and spend more than 70000 baht there.. bleh those people are outta their mind larz. if only i could understand thai!! pfft. so annoying trying to understand what they are saying! rattling off at me
but i feel terribly blessed compared to the people there, not as if there are no wealthy people there, but the amounts of beggars on the streets are really alarming. i wanted to give them some money after they stuck their little cups out at me, i mean they are CHILDREN!! so much younger for me and they already have to come out and earn a "living" but i am really scared that if i give one child, all the other children would be jealous? but they are really very innocent! i am so blessed with everything i have but i never seem to appreciate it, now i do really see things in a different perspective.
the hotel that i stayed at, something princess yeah, it's really nice! they have nice programs! haha, got some cable channels that i dont have, like HBO, STAR movies.. yup staying in the hotel is nicer than staying at home but i dont admit that i really missed singaproe the time that i was away, the food especially! watched many soccer matches and movies, snow dogs, erin brockovich, tuck everlasting, shows that i have never watched before or never even heard of,i think tuck everlasting is rated PG15 by either star movies or HBO! haha,but who actually cares?!and the hotel swimming pool is cool! they use salt water instead of chlorine so my hair doesnt stink like mad! haha, and i went swimming like twice everyday,once when i woke up and once after i came back from shopping exhausted mentally and phsically, go to the pool and relax,supposedly to make u more comfortable with some kinda mineral that they put in((: i dint get tanned cos there was no sun in the morning or at night!!hmph
but i was very VERY VERY scared that someone would snatch my bag away cos there have been many cases but i am so lucky that it dint happen to me,hehe if not i wouldnt be here blogging!! the people there are all very friendly and happy-go-lucky, pace of life is slower and more relaxed than singapore !! manye i should migrate there?loads of japanese people there, in the shopping centres all have jap people, probably migrants cos they know how to speak thai too!((: so cool! but only at those high-classsy places, not like the places where locals frequent ((:
end of post, really tired now, gotta go to bed soon!! having a headache after sitting in the plane )): the plane had nice movie!!heehee i watched sharkboy and lava girl, not hat nice lah
